Kettering University celebrates the induction of four new members of Pi Tau Sigma, the international honor society for mechanical engineers. Alpha Pi Mu Honor Society Inducts New Members

On December 11, 2024, the Kettering University chapter of Alpha Pi Mu, the honor society for Industrial and Systems Engineering, inducted two new members. Joining the Kettering University chapter are: Isabella Coleman Christian Lopez Active membership is open to undergraduate students fully registered in an industrial engineering or comparable engineering curriculum, whose curriculum has been approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or other equivalent accrediting agency, who are ranked as third or fourth-year students by their college and are in good and regular standing. Students must also meet scholarship requirements and exhibit positive characteristics of leadership, ethicality, sociability, and widespread interest.

Kettering University Recognizes New Tau Beta Pi Initiates

On November 20, 2024, seven exceptional Kettering University students were inducted into Tau Beta Pi, the nation's oldest engineering honor society, celebrating top achievers in Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering. These individuals represent the top 1/8 of the Junior class or top 1/5 of the Senior class and exemplify the integrity and character required for this prestigious honor. The new class includes: Deondre Blair Ryan Bolduc Victoria Brender Dahlie Rose Canalita Alexander Horetski Kayla Hughes Meadow Loukmas This recognition of engineering excellence places them among the elite in their fields. Their names will be featured in Kettering University's commencement program, further celebrating their achievements.

Kettering University's Chapter of Pi Tau Sigma Names New Executive Board

The Kettering University chapter of Pi Tau Sigma, the International Honor Society for Mechanical Engineers, inducted 12 new members on September 5, 2024. Pi Tau Sigma members are chosen based on sound engineering ability, scholarship service, leadership, and integrity. The Pi Tau Sigma mission is to strive to create better engineers through commitment to academic excellence and dedication to service. Pi Tau Sigma prides itself on its core values: Integrity (soundness of character and moral conduct), service (serving the mechanical engineering profession and the community), and leadership (fostering initiative through example in a professional manner). The Kettering University chapter of Pi Tau Sigma also named a new executive board: President Jacob Fernstrum Vice President Ayden Stuckey Secretary Peyton Spodney Treasurer Thomas Borst Service Chair Dexter Woods Member Status Chair Timothy Vokal Pi Tau Sigma is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. There are presently 182 collegiate chapters at universities in the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates.

Alpha Pi Mu Elects New Executive Board

On September 17, 2024, the Kettering University chapter of Alpha Pi Mu, the National Honor Society for Industrial Engineers, elected its new executive board. Students ranked in the upper one-third of the senior Industrial Engineering class and the upper one-fifth of the junior Industrial Engineering class are considered for society membership based on their leadership, ethics, sociability, character, and breadth of interest. Although high academic interests and abilities are required for membership, the society's overall goals are much broader. Alpha Pi Mu was founded to facilitate the exchange of ideas and professional development of young engineers and advance the profession as a whole. The executive board of Kettering University's Alpha Pi Mu chapter includes: President: Cole Thomas Secretary: Moritz Richter Treasurer: Alexis Taylor Alpha Pi Mu is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies and the only nationally recognized Industrial Engineering honor society. There are presently 72 collegiate chapters at universities across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Sigma Pi Sigma Initiates New Members

The Physics and Astronomy Honor Society, Sigma Pi Sigma, initiated new members on March 11. To qualify for membership, students must be a junior or senior, have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0, completed at least four physics courses of three credits or more with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 for those courses and be in the top 33% of their graduating class.

Gamma Sigma Alpha Initiates New Members

The Delta Zeta chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society initiated ten new members on February 28. Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society (GSA) is the premier organization committed to our members' academic success and alignment with its host institutions' academic mission. Students are eligible for membership based on grade point average and membership in a fraternity or sorority. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of 39 completed credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale). Students with a 3.5 GPA in any semester during their junior or senior year can also apply for GSA membership.

Kappa Mu Epsilon math honor society inducted 21 new members during an event Nov. 16. To qualify for membership, students must be in the top 35% of their classes, completed three math courses (excluding MATH 100) and earned a B average in their math courses.

Gamma Sigma Alpha Initiates New Members

The Delta Zeta chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society initiated 20 new members across eight chapters Aug. 29. Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society (GSA) is the premier organization committed to the academic success of our members and alignment with the academic missions of our host institutions. Students are eligible for membership based on grade point average and membership in a Greek fraternity or sorority. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of 39 completed credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale). Or, students with a 3.5 GPA in any semester during their junior or senior year are eligible to apply for membership in Gamma Sigma Alpha.

More than 30 Inducted in Gamma Sigma Alpha

The Delta Zeta Chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha initiated more than 30 members from across three councils and 12 chapters within Kettering Fraternity and Sorority Life on June 6. Gamma Sigma Alpha National Greek Academic Honor Society accepts members of Greek organizations who have completed at least 39 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, or students with a 3.5 GPA in any semester during their junior or senior year. Both chapters of Gamma Sigma Alpha at Kettering have been chartered for 26 years.

Gamma Sigma Alpha initiated about a dozen members from multiple chapters within Kettering Fraternity and Sorority Life for the Fall Term. Gamma Sigma Alpha National Greek Academic Honor Society accepts members of Greek organizations who have completed at least 39 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above, or students with a 3.5 GPA in any semester during their junior or senior year. Both chapters of Gamma Sigma Alpha at Kettering have been chartered for 26 years.

Four students were inducted into the Nu Chi Chapter of Delta Mu Delta on May 11. Delta Mu Delta is an international honor society that recognizes academic excellence among Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs-accredited schools. To become a member, students must be a junior or senior, major in an undergraduate management program, earn a 3.7 GPA or higher and be in the 20th percentile of their college class in cumulative average grades.
